A conformation of the report of the surrender of Lee's army from Southern sources. The surrender was made on Sunday eve last: none of the particulars as yet.

How very little account are the many words of passing kindness and moments of light-hearted pleasure, when spoken or felt, compared to the memory of them when hallowed by distance or time.
