P.S.

I note what you say about the inroads of this matter on articles at home. By all means dispose of them & other things there as if they were under your [illeg]. It would seem to me more natural that you should do so, rather than any relation I have, for you were with my mother more, and contributed more to her the comfort of her declining years, than any of them had it in their power to do. You have therefore a carte blanche in the matter and I approve beforehand of every thing you may do. As to a suit of [illeg] I had heard that a very nice article was made somewhere about Gainesville or Scioba, & had been thinking of requesting you to secure me 1/2 doz yards of dark grey of a fresh clear colour with a nap if it

could be had. It is a very favourite article of dress with me. Will you tell Tom, if the sulky harness is in good order, to clean it up well to be sent to me, as well as my saddle. I hope to get a good horse shortly, & a buggy or light rockaway, and I shall have to trouble you again to send me these, served up in a stout bag, as well as some other things I will write you about soon. I have no doubt the flowers are very pretty the hyacinths particularly. When one of the finest of these is almost fading, will you cut & press it to send me in a letter -- long envelope. As to the stone, I do not mind the cost, if it is no more than others are charged, but if Mr. N. did not buy the marble expressly for me, it may be as well to let it alone till after the war, when I can get exactly what I want. Caesar is well and sends "respects"

As ever your friend L.H.A.
