Dear juliaette I reseived yours of the 12th yesterday and one of the 7th also I dont See why Som leters wil come through in three days and again it will take nearly two weeks for one to get here I got a leter from William and Sarah to day W--m Says his caugh is geting very bad oh how I Should like to See him now but I cant If I could only go home to See him once now I Should be more contented to Stay here than I be now it is So warm to day that I Swet Siting in the Shade to rite I dont know what I Shal

do in june if it continues to get warmer juliaett dont you think that we have ben made to take up arms without being exchanged yesterday the the order came to us all Seperatly ordering us to duty and it was rite from Gen Roscranc [sp. Rosecrans] we all took guns this morning and drilled this fore noon it Seems rather hard to take up arms without being exchanged but I cant See how we could get rid of it as we are forced to do it I am Sorey that you are troubled with a lame Side and chest I hope you will be careful and not try to do any thing to hard for you you no that you ant very large and Strong like Some women and had not aught to to work that is to heavy for you

I rote in my last leter that I thought this Reg was going to be payed off this week but It was a mistake the rest of the brigade has ben payed but thair is no paymaster apointed for the Ohio troops that is at this plaice I guess Some fo the boys wil get out of change before they get payed off again I have ben Speculating a litel yesterday and day before I went to town and baught a box of lemons and Sold them out So as to clear $5,50 on the box and it took me only two half days to do it I Should want no beter chance than to be discharged from the Service and have a chance to folow the army and and trade with the boys we use a good many lemons to make up into lemonade to drink when it is So warm

Gen Hall has got back and I am going to See him this after noon to See if I can get a furlough I am afraid I cant get one I realy want to go and See W--m and all the rest of the folks
I have forgoten to No my leters lately and dont no what no this would be So I wont number this I have not much to rite this time So I will draw this leter to a close by biding you good by from your husband
