Dear Mother
As Tom White is going to Start for home tomorrow morning I write you a short note. I wrote by John Olive this morning & it is useless to say anymore. I send by Tom one shirt & a pair of draws. not much news afloat Camp rumor says that Atlanta has been recaptured with a goodly number of Prisoners. Rumor says that it is in todays paper. I have not seen one In consequence of the mail not having arrived I hope that we will hear glorious news soon, the Weather is very cold & getting a little disagreeable -- I hope I shall get a letter this evening by mail as I am anxious to hear from you good Bye
