Dear Father
We arrived safe at this city last night about 11 oclock under guard and here we are yet but I think we will soon out of this When we got on the cars at Piqua there was a patrool guard on the train and there orders to pick up straglers that was comeing or going from here We are going to the front soon
some of the boys have already gone we will come out all right after a while so
you kneed not worry about our safety if we have to lay under guard the rest of my term of service but I think we will be sent off in a day or two at least good by write soon
