Camp Near culpeper
May June 2d 63

Dear Father

     I received your Letter dated the 16th of last month and Was Truly glad to hear From you These lines Leaves me in good health
I have no news Worth your attention at the present we are now in camp near culpeper and is keeping up our old picket Lines we have splendid pastures for our horses we dont get very much corn for our horses But plenty to keep them very well if we dont have no hard marching to do this Sumer my hors is in very good fix he mends dayly

I wrote to you to get another horse but you need not put your self to any Trouble unless you think it will pay But Be sure and tell George Baily what I wrote you Before Tell george that Stepp has got it fixed all right withe the colonel and wants him to come and stay in his place with me tell him I want him to come I must close write soon
