Abstract: A document written and signed by John Cary, clerk, directing the sheriff to summon Elizabeth Smith, of Taunton, to appear before the Bristol County Court of General Sessions to answer a charge of fornication; the accompanying endorsement by Stephen Leonard, constable of Taunton, indicates that he did not succeed in locating Smith.
