take anything there was no officer present I could not tell what he was serching for the was very kind he was not very particular he said he did not know what it was for the officer of the day told him to make the search Oct the 31st General Enspection among the yanks & prisoners Nov the 1st 1864 Gov. Island [i.e., Governors Island] Nov the 8th The Day of the Election it passed off better than I antisipated the Feds say it was the calmest election they Ever saw I thought they would be some big fighting done but all quiet to day

Nov the 15 we had snow The 16 at night 400 Rebel prisoners come to Castle William on the 18th Early in the morning about half of them was sent away from this prison The Remander of the last prisoners left Castle William the 19. it is said they are going to Elmira
Nov The 27th Recd a letter from home stating some thing.
December the 3rd the officer of Day & Clerk come down and called the Roll and said that we was
