Nov 12 encamped at Ozark resting expect to move soon, nothing done but clean up had dress parade this evening
" 13 had our regular drill to day a sword presented to one colonel Pinkney [i.e., Colonel Bertine Pinckney]
" 14 have orders to march at nine oclock marched about 16 miles to Sayers Creek marched very easy missed the road about a mile and a half

15 Struck tents to start at 8 oclock but was ordered to pish tents again till further orders did not move rained all day but not heavy
" 17 raining a little got orders to march at one oclock marched about 4 miles west of Ozark and laid out without tents rained all night

Nov 18th Started about 10 oclock and came to James River about 20 miles rained all day I had the fevor all day havent got our tents to night teames delayed on account of the mud rainey
16 miles
19th rained till about noon got one team in about 11 oclock mud so bad that they could not get in before I am very sick not fit for duty
20th I am still unfit for duty Regt. doing nothing resting we expect to move tomorrow
21st did not move a very fine day had a nice Battallion drill I am not fit for duty got orders to move at nine oclock in the morning dont know which way
