*SATURDAY, JANUARY 10, 1863.* Cold but pleasent Went to Mr Wilcoxes in the evening		*TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 1863* Cloudy with rain at 12.o.c. Rained all day start for Fort snelling at 9.o.c. Report at 12.o.c, find most of the Boys there, all well & fealing good
*SUNDAY 11* Clear & pleasent Went to Meeting to Waterford		*WEDNESDAY 14* Cold & stomey with high wind E Freygang [i.e., Private Edward Freygang] arrived at 3 1/2.o.c. Very cold at knight
*MONDAY 12* Very pleasent, arrive in St. Paul stop at the Farmers Home		*THURSDAY 15* Very Cold & icy start for Dixey Detailed to take charge of the Wagon train, Diner at Mr Schofields Arrive in Hastings at dark, froze my foot, stay all knight at J N Bill
