Cloudy mail come in this morning Received one letter, Melvin & LaMir on guard, a Cavelry came in in from Paris with a Report that our Boys had been in a skirmish & killed two Rebbles & took som Prisinors Co K lost one man Killed, 8 Boats came down the River

Cool & Pleasent Morning But very warm in the middle of the Day Battallion Drill in the afternoon Band start for Murry [sp. Murray] Brink arrived to Knight from Minnesota
