Camp Mitchel Sept 19th/62

Dear Father & Mother

I am waiting anshiously for a letter but do not see any The Capt has not been down town yet he is going to express it and we have marching orders but I do not know as we shall leave at present I hope not at least untill the Capt gets down town I should have sent it home in my other letter but he thought it would be more safe to go by express he has sent an order for the township bounty you will find it at Joel Brighams and just as quick as the Capt gets a chance you shall have $10,00 more I am not very well at present I have got the bowell complaint & feaver & ague and a very sharp pain in my side but I guess I shall get along I have had the

ague to day and our company has just come from picket have been 24 I did not go yesterday I am so weak that I cannot stand any thing if we march I dont think I shall go with them for I should not hold out. I am going to see the surgeon and tell him dont worry for I am not dangrously sick I am up around well not any more at present so good by write soon and often my love to all and the little ones
