I received your letter of the 26" last eavening and was glad to hear that you was well and the little ones I am glad hear that every thing is doing well and that every thing is comeing down so reasonable It will not cost a man so much to live now as it was to There is some talk of our starting on the 10" of the month I do not know what troops will garrison I should

think though that some of our corps would stay here for our corps commander is in command of the department I should think of course that some of us would stay here I hope it will be our good luck for once We are drilling some now but not very much we go out and stack arms and lay down for the 1 1/2 hour and when the recall is made we are ready to come in and lay down again I tell you we shall not drill as much as we did in Old Ky It is not good for our whole some There was a good many of our men killed

by drilling so hard when we first came out We are as old as our officers are now and the men all hang together and will not be run of over by the officers now And we have a great deal less trouble now then when we first come out I will close good by write soon
