     My Dear Companion It is through the mercies of him that is ever mindefull of us that I am Spared and blessed with another opertuinty of writing to my loved ones at home. I received yours of the 29. Should.be.No.13. I am glad to here that my little family is still Blessed with good health ) you Spoke of the fruit I hope it will not get killed (I) (with you) hope that wee will get to eate Some of the fruit off our little orchard ) well Dear I would like that you and willie could be here to day thare is going to be a dinner here for the Soldiers (and extry dinner

it is got up with the Hospital funds after it is over it may be that I can tell you more about it) you spoke of raising some young chickens I hope wee will get to eate them togather this Summer ) I am glad to here of chery having a calf ) I asked that question in my last letter) you answered Sooner than I expeted ) the news is Still good. I See that the 23 AC is to be Scattered over North Carlina, as guards, So wee that belongs to the 23 Corps may be Sent to our command. I cant tell yet but I will finde out in a few days my health is still good ) oh how thankful I feel when I look back and see how poorly I have been and now I feel So well ) I will close for the presant (So good By) 2:OC P.M. Just after dinner ) wee had a Splendid dinner onions, letis, eggs, Butter, chees, potatoes, Jelly cake,

rason cake ) I recon that is what you would call it ) for it had lots of rasons in it, rice pooding, custard, Baked Beef, green apples, ale, good lite Bread, many other things to tedious to mention I told the matron to bring my supper for I wanted to eate enough to do me a week while thare was plenty and that that is good ) She Said that She intended that I Should have an oister Supper So I concluded that I would waite ) I will tell you all about it after Supper (that is about Supper) I want you to understand me right )
May the 4 Good morning Dear this is beautiful morning every thing Seams lovely well wee did not have our oyster Supper last night it was left to a vote and they all Said to have it this eavening So I Suppose wee will have have an oyster Supper ) we are all in for

good living. I expect to get another letter from that kinde hand to day that is if you got home in time to write ) the male is comming ) (listen) yes thare is a letter ) May the 1 from willie I am glad to here that you got to go to meeting ) well Dear you asked me a question that is hard for me to answer ) at the presant So I will not try at the presant time will Soon tell ) and that is all the chance for a Soldier to know what he will do ) love dont build your Self with the hopes of me getting out Soon ) all will work out for the better So wee must be prepared for disapointment (my hopes are with yours) did you receive a little Brespin that I Sent to (Merian) remember me as one that is weak ) my love to all ) I Still remain your effectionate husband Samuel.T.Reeves Good.By.
