Dear Huldah
I have the pleasure of Seating my Self for the purpose of writing a few lines to you in accordance to promice telling you of our oyster Supper well it come off last eavening, wee had a Splendid Supper plenty of that ) that is good our table was nicely decorated with various Sorts and colors of may flowers it was well gotten up ) but the first thought that Struck when Seeing the fancy Supper (was this) what has my comrads in the field for Supper to night verry likely nothing ) and if anything ) it is hard crackers and Strong Bacon

it was a Splendid Supper but I could of relished it much better if the boys of Co.C. had been thare to pertook or eaven if I had knowen that they had plenty of common Subsistance but I contented my Self with the hopes
of Seeing the time when wee may unight around one table when peace and harmony raines throughout our land ) I hope these precious hours are not far off ) yet wee may not live to See that time ) this the (6) good morning ) the news is favorable this morning all Seams to being going on rite wee have nothing new this morning I have not hered from the Regt for Some time tell me if you have heared any thing lately )
May the 7 /65 Good morning love another beautiful Sabbath morning has made its appearance) how charming the Scenes of a pleasant may morning

you Spoke of your disapointment in not getting your photographs taken I am Sorrow that you could not get them taken for I would like to have one of them before I go to the regt (that is if I go) I would be Shure to get
one if it was sent to me here ) and if I go to the Regt it is doutful whether I would get it or not even if you Sent it in a letter tell me the last account that you have had from the regt ) I would like to know where they are stationed )
Good eavening love ) John McCord [i.e., Corporal John McCord] has Just received a letter from Isaac it was ritten on the 25 of last month he said that they was going to start on a march the next morning but did not know where they was going he Said that Co C. was all well

is Still good love you must excuse Short letters I have been having a Bad boil under my arm it was 8 days coming) but it Broke last night and it feels much better this morning (eavening) I think it will be well in a few days thare has been an order here today that thare is to be nomore Sent to the front (but it may be wore out By this time for an order dont generaly last long here wee will know what will be done By the first of next month that is my opinion) I did not get a letter from you to day but I think I will get one to morrow I wrote a letter to David on the 13 of last month and have got no answer
