Dear Uncle I take my pen in hand to Let you no that I am well and hop that these fiew Lines may come safe to hand and find you all well I havant aney thing to Right onely hard times
Lieut Henery [i.e., 1st Lt. James L. Henry, Co. G, 1st North Carolina Cavalry] wants to no what you want don with Alberts Horse he is a fine good horse Albert was wonded at and died at martins burg Va I started you a leter this morning I Rote it sevral days ago but could not mail it till this morning Right soon and let us no what you want don with his horse No more at present
