Prison camp Elmira NY
Feb The 15 The Rolls of the second Batch of Prisoners was made out Feb the 19 The second Batch of prisoners Signed the parolls The Second Batch of Pris left on the 20. for Exchange the most of them was the sick the Remainder of our Regt that was at Gov Islad [i.e., Governors Island] arrived at Elmira N. York Feb the 21. on the 22nd we Recd a letter from Mr. David Lipscomb at Nashville Tennessee saying he could not Ship our Box of clothing unless we sent him a firm we wrote to him if he had not started the Articles to send them home

The 3rd load of Prisoners left Elmira for Exchange Feb the 25 about 5.00 in number Each load The 4th Signed the Paroles Feb the 28 I among them March the 1st 1865. The 4th Load of Prisoners left March the 2nd the most of them was sick in Hospital on the 7th we Packed up and got Ready to Start south then the order was countermanded & we was ordered to our quarters on the 8. a great many Box of Tobaco come in for the Prisoners & was Disstributed by the Rebel col at this place
