Feb 26th fine day. Stood guard had the first [?] of the day got some flour. got a mail I got a letter. all quiet.
" 27th fine nice day, no mail, on no duty to day. all quiet had a nice dress parade. I made out the monthly report. no news.
" 28th cool and cloudy, seen white geese going north, rained some this afternoon, our Regt mustered at 2 oclock. I am on guard to day alone. no mail, no news, all quiet.
Sunday
Mar 1st cool and cloudy looks some like a storm, got news of an enemy approaching. orders to march at 8 oclock in the morning, had a good sermon, no mail, all well.

Mar 2nd fine cool morning, struck tents at 7 oclock and marched at 8 l/4 oclock stoped and eat dinner at 12 oclock and got to camp at 2 oclock the road run all the way on the ridge through the timber.

" 3rd Started at 7 l/4 oclock, our Co. D. I and A rear guard to day we got started at 9 oclock cool and cloudy morning roads bad and soft. Stoped on Wolf Creek at 12 l/2 oclock and took dinner got in camp at ten minutes after 1 oclock. Wolf Creek in the timber

" 4th Started at 7 oclock and marched steady till 1 l/2 oclock roads good till within about 5 miles of camp. our camp is in sight of Mountainville. fine day
