Mar 25th got some provision for our mess. got 30 pair pants for company 2nd Wis cavl. made a charge on our Regt. three times
" 26th fine day warm and pleasent. had regular drill and dress parade had small mail. Lt Butler reinstated, three commissions came to our Regt to day. one capt two Lts. small mail. all quiet in camp.
" 27th warm morning, but cloudy. commensed to rain about nine oclock and rained all day. done nothing all day. no news. no mail. got some little buttins for my coat sleaves. all quiet nothing doing.

Mar 28thfine day but quite muddy under foot, had no drill. had dress parade and Pettingale marched before the Reg with a ball and chain on him. new Lt.
came out. John Stark detailed pioneer Sergeant. no mail.
Sunday
29th cloudy and cool with heavy winds. nothing doing. no meeting of any kind. no mail. started a letter to Mary. had orders to move in the morning.
" 30th Started at 8 oclock. fell in line at 7 1/2 oclock. cool but clear. stoped and rested at 11 oclock the country rough roads rather soft in places and bad.
