May 26th nice fine day but looks like rain this evening, got good news from Vicksburg. all well, had drill, the 9 Wis. Officers gone to Rolla to be mustered, came of guard this morning, no mail every thing quiet in camp,
done nothing to day all well, still cloudy
" 27th beautiful fine day but cloudy and rained a little, had drill, signed the pay rolls, got no mail, nothing special in the papers, all quiet in camp, and the boys all in good spirits, beautiful fine night

May 28th had a nise fine rain and it is nise and cool this evening. got paid of to day, to April 30th I got my pay. Settled up with all I owe, Officers meet, and. voted J. Shipley out as Suttler, all feel fine, and all quiet this evening, Settled up with Capt. Harlocker [i.e., Captain William Harlocker] in full.
" 29th nice cool day. had a drill. Wm White [i.e., Private William White] come back from Furlough, and M. Ousley [i.e, Private Micajah B. Ousley] came with him no particular news to night all quiet in camp looks like rain. collected $83.75 for Mrs. Bintliff in cr. alI well.
