Pleasent day Drills & Dress Parade & Game of Ball Go to bed Early

SATURDAY, MARCH 14, 1863.

Very Pleasent Arive at fort Heiman No Rebels to [?] sleap all night on the ground without shelter or Blankets Gun boats gone up River

 

THURSDAY 12

Rather cool wind Long Roll beat at 4.o.c Left For Halleck [i.e., Fort Halleck] at 9. embarked on board the Bostona Tennesse [sp. Tennessee] River is our destination

 

SUNDAY 15

Very Pleasent Nothing to eat yet Expect to remain here Dont like the looks of the place

 

FRIDAY 13

Very Pleasent Arrid at Paducah at 4.o.c this morning Wait for the gun boats start from Paducah at 4.O.C for Ft Heiman

 

MONDAY 16

Very Beautifull Morning Built us a House to day Two Gun boats arrive to day Roll Call at 9.O.C.
