TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 1863.

Pleasent Gun Boats gone Down the river No drill Had a fine game of Ball No news from anywhere

FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 1863.

Rain this Morning Van Dorn [i.e., General Earl Van Dorn] reported to have crossed the river above The Lloyd arrived with comisary guards to day Dress Parade

 

WEDNESDAY 18

Rainy this morning Gen Asboth [i.e., General Alexander S. Asboth] goes to Columbus Two Gun boats arrive from Nashv [i.e., Nashville] bound up river All quiet at Roll Call

 

SATURDAY 21

Very plesant went up to the big Sandy, confisicated 60 lbs salt a lot of whisky cotten & tobaco, & two lbs of Eggs for our own use stayed all night All quiet at Roll call

 

THURSDAY 19

very Pleasant Two Comp of Cavelry from Paducah Dress Parade at 4.o.c All quiet at Roll Call

 

SUNDAY 22

Cloudy this morning, waiting for the Boat, which arrives at two.o.c load our cotten & retire to camp All quiet at camp
