March 16.

Got to Mt. Solan at 2 o'ck. Still raining very hard, found [4 lines illeg]

March 17 [10 lines illeg] Staid with [illeg] all night.

March 18

A beautiful day.
A deserter arrested by the name of [illeg] and shot in the [illeg], a bad wound. Started him to Staunton guarded by Bra[illeg] who [illeg] him to [illeg] his [2 words illeg] came up bringing with him a recruit [3 words illeg] and staid all night with [illeg].

March 19

Still beautiful weather Sunday. had horse fit looks [2 words illeg].
