A bright beautiful morning. drill. got pair spurs from Blackemore [i.e., Pvt. Benjamin A. Blakemore, Co. B, 23rd Virginia Cavalry] for blanket. staid all night at Vanl[illeg].

March 28

Left Mt Solain this morning, got to Churchville at 3 o'clk. Encamped here. Staid all night at Zekes — Few men of the

Company came into 8 of which were mounted, Capt Richardson also came
